My lovely GirlsRock Photo Camp Graduates 🙂
The sun was shining and the laughter was heard throughout the neighbourhood last weekend when I hosted GirlsRock Photography Camp 2012.  We had a fabulous group of girls and sent home a group of exhausted kids at the end of the day. 🙂  The day was packed full with fun activities that encouraged and inspired.  Special thanks goes out to Sonia of Safe Futures Canada and Blamo Designs (Orangeville’s Hidden Jewel T-shirt store).  Thanks Sonia – your boundless energy and fabulous laugh really helps around 2pm!
I started the day off with a photo scavenger hunt.  This gave me the opportunity to figure out everyone’s camera skill levels and rotate them in and out of the makeup chair. 🙂 Kati Van Wyk of Myth Makeup Artistry did a beautiful job as always encouraging the girls and offering a little finishing touch dusting before photos. 🙂  Thanks Kati!!
Natasha Boldireff of yogalaya and Headwaters Raquet Club returned for a wonderful morning yoga class under the trees. Â Natasha had the coolest homemade weights. Â I am going to try and make them and do a separate blog posting. Â Anything that helps relax my slumped photographer’s shoulders is a good thing!
A new addition this year was Sue Brundle, Personal Trainer at Headwaters Raquet Club.  Thanks Sue!  Sue added a jolt of energy to the afternoon when the girls were starting to lag in the sun. (and your emergency flower arranging abilities are not too shabby as well 😉
All in all a fabulous, fun, full day with new friendships and some budding photography careers. Â I am starting to receive emails from the girls showing off their favourite photos. Â Keep yours eyes open for their works of art in a separate posting.
As always – special thanks to my 14 Girls Rock Photo Camp Girls. Â You made the day everything that it was – Thanks!!
“Look at things from a different angle! Â Let your creativity come through your camera lens!” Â I saw it all of the time and it looks like they were getting it.
A new one this year added to the Photo Amazing Race.  Create beards from cotton balls and vaseline then take photos of one another. (lol – the team leaders thought it was hysterical 🙂
My favourite rubber duckies making their regular appearance.
Sue working her magic in the afternoon!
Yes – there was a blue head. …..
My Photo Scavenger Hunt List – it can easily be adapted for age group and locations.  🙂

I heard an abundance of positive comments from my neice and she’s planning to attend next year! Hats off to you for hosting such an engaging program for young girls; you brought many smiles to their faces and ours. Thank you!
