Today we celebrate Caitlyn’s 11th birthday. She has always been our wise child (sorry Erin 😉 The one that teaches us daily about people and situations. She can size a person up in a single sentence with a single interaction. She doesn’t judge she is matter of fact and kind giving every person that opportunity to be who they are and grow as they need to ….. as long as they do not wrong Caitlyn or someone near and dear to her. Then, stay out of the way of the red headed tornado. Her vision of right and wrong has always been strong – it made her a wonderful child because she was ok to lose at board games. Now that she is a tween I have some concerns that her right and wrong might clash with my right and wrong but we will tackle that tornado when it happens.
Things I love about Caitlyn:
– her passion for animals particularly creatures that will eat you. I know that she will be battling to save the sharks and snakes for her entire life. Sharks I am ok with … there will be no snakes in my house ever!!
– her sense of strategy and planning. She sets 2 and 3 year goals and achieves them. 🙂
– her sense of humour and and timing. She makes us laugh all the time. 🙂
– her kindness, unwilllingness to judge and “pile on” people. “Each person is on a journey as long as they don’t mess with my journey it’s ok with me”. 😉
