Caitlyn turned 6. It is hard to believe. My baby girl is growing up and I am saying goodbye to having a baby in the household. I can't believe how much she has changed in the last 6 months. She has taught herself how to skip and picked up how to ride her bike without training wheels in 2 tries – she is undefeatable. It doesn't matter what sets her back she gets up, brushes herself off and goes for it again. ….UNLESS…..she and only she decides she doesn't want it badly enough and turns and walks away. Then experience has shown me that there is no way to get her to try again…until she decides she wants to. What a kid!
I finally convinced her to let me take her 6 year old photos on this sunny summer's day. Her way of course but at least I have something to put up on the gallery wall. This means that we had to take some photos with "Blankie" her blanket that she is passionate for. I like the photos with blankie. When she is old and blankie has disintegrated into a pile of thread she will have a photo of the her favourite comfort. And that fact that she still loves blankie means that she is still a little kid and that is ok with me. 🙂
We love you Caitlyn – we cherish the day you came into our lives and everything that you bring to us everyday. 🙂
Blankie on the walk with us – playing turtle on the pathway.
You can see the section of blankie at the bottom that has been worn away. It is her favourite spot to rub up to her face when she goes to sleep.
Some lilacs along the way – my absolute favourite. Have you smelt their perfume wafting through the air?
