I was out doing some gardening today when Caitlyn ran excitedly across the yard. She had seen a baby and mommy raccoon. I immediately give her the speech to stay away from it because mommy raccoons can be particularly vicious, but second it by saying let me grab my camera and you can show me where it is. 😉 (Do as I say not as I do 🙂
The mommy and baby have taken up residence in the hollow of the tree by the play structure. Which means that the play structure is off limits for the time being as well as the Guinea Pig outdoor vacation home. I was not able to get close at all. The mommy was making some nasty noises when she saw me so I felt best to back away and give her some space. 🙂 Did get a glimpse of some beady eyes though.
I will try and sneak up on her tomorrow when the kids aren’t around to see it.
