So the saga of our guinea Pigs. It all started in the spring when our beloved hamster Iggy died. After a suitable time had passed we started looking for a replacement – as luck would have it "Friends" were getting rid of one of their Guinea Pigs. After being plied with a beer or two – we took "Him" home. A beautiful blond guinea pig named Dexter. With research we discovered that guinea pigs are social creatures and need friends so I immediately went out and found another "boy" guinea pig who the girls named Sparky.
And life was good at the Horton guinea Pig ranch. Dave built them a run for the backyard and they spent their days frolicking in the grass under the trees.
But we were busy, very busy this summer. And when Erin warned us that there was some questionable behaviour going on we chose to ignore it – she had to be mistaken we had 2 MALE guinea pigs after all.
We were out one evening a week ago (coincidentally at the same "Friend's" home where Dexter came from) and returned late. Erin choose to check on the guinea pigs one more time before bed. Imagine our surprise when we hear "MOM – there are 4 guinea pigs in the cage!" I must admit there was a bit of a ruckus. :)
So we now have 4 guinea pigs where we barely wanted 2. Dexter is now Butterscotch and Sparky is separated in a different cage pining away for the good old days. 😉 We have two very cute baby guinea pigs. 3 of our guinea pigs will be looking for a good home in the near future so if anyone is interested please email me ASAP 😉

Butterscotch aka Dexter
The two very cute babies – truffle (sometimes chocolate the girls fight on this one) and riley (striped)
