Whenever asked I always say that the location and activities within a photo are important. Not so much to me as the photographer (but believe me I do have opinions 😉 but as a parent looking at the photos. The things that tweak the heart strings are the memories. Looking back 20 years from now are you going to remember the studio or the background or the hair pulling, shin kicking memories of trying to get kids to cooperate during photos. I love the photos of my kids in action – they tweak the memory of how they love to boat, swim, etc. ……. you know what I mean the “Oh remember when Caitlyn use to crawl around with a rubber snake in her mouth” memories (yep – very true – looking back it makes perfect sense that the Caitlyn who grew up loving snakes, would have them as one of her favourite toys as an infant 🙂
This family had a fabulous suggestion …. their kids LOVE tennis so why not do the annual Christmas photos at the Headwaters Racquet Club. We had a blast!! They loved firing balls at each other ….. and me 🙂
