I was excited to be asked to take part in this year’s Kid’s Artfest through Headwaters Arts. I did not have the time in the springtime schedule to offer my annual GirlsRock Photo Camp so when this to come across my desk I gave a resounding yes. I love sharing my passion for photography with kids, they are catch on quickly and don’t limit themselves with preconceived notions of what is good and what is bad. Perfect!!
My “Kids with Cameras” program will include fun activities, games and skill building that will encourage children to create their own piece of photographic art. It concentrates on the rule of thirds, basic camera skills and how to bring your own unique perspective through your camera lens. This will be very personalized. If your child is a budding photographer and wants to take their SLR camera off automatic and venture into the “manual” world I will offer that guidance as well.
