Let's jump ankle deep
Into muddy puddles,
Alive with happy adventures.
Dew Worms and snail hunters,
holding hands, laughing and splashing,
while clouds part to let the sun shine down.
Evaporating droplets reveal
Our footsteps etched in moist clay
For the next generation to find.

One of my favourite springtime childhood memories is putting on my rubber boots and exploring through the ponding waters in the fields. Rick and I would come in absolutely soaked and filthy from top to bottom. Mom would give an exasperated sigh and have us strip down in the porch and hit the tub but we would always be right back out there. Even now as an adult, I love playing in the dirt and refuse gardening gloves (my nails tell the sad story :), running in the rain and rarely cower under an umbrella.
It was with this in mind that I made a suggestion to a friend of mine to take the kids out to play in the springtime mud……lucky for me she agreed. I have such great friends!
Caitlyn LOVED it – like momma like daughter I guess. 😉
Brent with the Robinson Family Homestead in the background – sometimes I wish that mom would have taken our picture before she banished us to the tub. 🙁 Oh well – the memories won't fade.
….cheeky monkey :)….
Caitlyn being a mud monster.
5 year old friendships are the absolute cutest!
