Yesterday was the last day of school before the holidays and as luck would have it, it was a snow day. Snow days have a tendency to always fall on the days that I had planned to be an overachiever. And this snow day could have turned out to be the worst of all. Not because of the weather conditions but due to the hyperactivity and scarcely contained excitement of my two girls. Just when I thought I wouldn't be able to make it through the day without rope and duct tape I was rescued by my neighbour. A call inviting the girls and I over for coffee and decorating gingerbread men. Of course I took it, I am no fool, when someone throws you a lifeline you grab it. We bundled up and ventured out into the blizzard, meeting up with yet another snowbound mom with kids in tow trundling to the refuge of coffee and kid activities. I wonder how foul the weather would have to have been to keep us away.
I spent the afternoon with two delightful friends as our kids amused themselves. Merry Christmas Ladies! Thanks Helena – you saved my Friday!
