Yes, I will be the first to admit that our generation celebrates many things and maybe would even concede that some of those things do not warrant the praise that we give them. But today was one that I like. It is such a huge transition from kindergarten to grade 1, these little kids go from babies (essentially) to being big independent kids. Tough on the kids – even tougher on the parents. It warrants a celebration. Grade 1 there is no centre time, there are desks – not social tables, and you go to school every day. Kindergarten they learned to read and I cannot tell you how proud they are of what they achieved and that they are going to be in Grade 1.
I offered to do Grad photos of the sk's as a surprise for the parents (and a keepsake for me ;). Each child told me about all the great things that they had achieved this year something they were especially proud of be it reading or counting to 1000. Each child was so incredibly excited. I am so pleased that I was able to share in that. I hope that they stay that proud and excited about their respective achievements for their entire lives.
Today was the SK celebration, filled with songs and dances it brought tears to my eyes to see their beaming faces. Of course I was especially proud of one sk'er in particular……my Caitlyn.
Love Ya Caitlyn!

I would love to but because I did these in “secret” as a surprise – I do not have the approval to post them. Some of them are super cute. …..Any parent’s out there who want me too – email me and I will be happy to post your sk’er. 🙂
