We have been having a glorious 3 day weekend. The girls had yet another PD day yesterday, and they took advantage of the opportunity to have two friends over all day. It was great for me, with the addition of two extra children and sunshine all four children magically disappeared for hours in the backyard. The beautiful weather counteracts the weather reports from Brazil (thanks Dave – but really and truly I do not need to know that it is 30 degrees and sunny, and you really didn't need to bring your jacket …..just get your work done 😉
This morning we headed off to the Caledon United Church (the Glassford family church) for it's open house and a morning of breakfast, face-painting, flower planting, and a magician. We had other plans but were cut short by a fabulous thunderstorm. The first one of the season. Having lived in Windsor for so many years I am now in love with thunderstorms. The sounds rolling across the sky vibrating the windows, the subtle changes in the air just before it blows in – thunderstorms are really really cool! Anyways, we had one today day dampening our hiking plans. We turned for home for an afternoon of bubbles, making soup and stews (my kids add all types of ingredients that they find outside and mix them up creating non-edible culinary masterpieces). They are now snuggled in for a sleep-over in Caitlyn's room. What a lovely finish it is to the day sipping a glass of wine listening to the sounds of spring through the windows.
Peaceful 🙂
soup – so yummy 😉
they felt the need to move some of my flowers around….
Yep – the shirt and expression say it all – a force to be reckoned with!
night and day – I love the way Erin's eyes always sparkle. She was painted up as a dalmatian dog but that wore off as the day went on.
The flowers they planted at the open house. Now to keep them alive long enough to get them in the ground.
