The Holiday Season is well upon us and things are supposedly winding down here at Reflections by Patty. Well, the sessions are winding down for the holidays but orders are still being processed. Don't worry – I promise that everything will be delivered by the end of this week. Then I'll be able to turn my attention to my own photo projects – Yes, I cannot have a camera out of my hands for very long. 🙂 The bottom line is that this fall has been extraordinarily busy and we are looking forward to relaxing and spending some well-deserved time with family and friends. I am hoping that some time off from school will finally help Caitlyn to return to full health. She never really bounced back fully after her bout with H1N1 and needs a few pyjama days to push her over the top. I think that we all could benefit from a pyjama day or two – don't you?
Some Favourite Decorations….
These are some antique ornaments that remind me of my Dad. They are always the last to go on the tree and go along with a story about him to the girls. I have many little things that I do to include him in all of our special occasions and it warms my heart that the girls have embraced them.
My final, and not very good, attempt at a Christmas Photo of the girls. Can you say UNCOOPERATIVE! There was no way that Caitlyn was getting her photo this fall. All kids go through that stage unfortunately for me this was Caitlyn's year. I actually took them to a good friend who is also a local photographer and they sat nicely for Michelle and she got a beautiful photo of them (written through clenched teeth!) Believe me when I say I can relate to those mom's at photo shoots….I can.
Yes, there was a large snake in this picture it is draped across the reindeer's back. Note Caitlyn's red-rimmed eyes from fiercely refusing to get a photo that did not have the snake in it. I caved – does it really matter anyway? :)
We celebrated our first of 3 family Christmas' this past weekend. This is the Horton Christmas and we gathered in Niagara-on-the-Lake with Dave's parents and Sister and her family who had made the trek from Ottawa. The kids range in age from 5-11 and love seeing each other.
