For Christmas Erin made Caitlyn what I think is the absolute BEST gift that anyone could have given her and I wanted to share. She called it “Caitlyn’s Inspiration Jar”. It is a jar full of ideas that Caitlyn can research and do mini projects on in her spare time (something that Caitlyn LOVES to do 🙂 The jar is filled with extremely random subjects ranging from nuclear energy, the great white shark and all the way into the fantasy realms with Minotaurs and leprechauns. Caitlyn was speechless when she opened it up.  SHE LOVES IT and it is proudly placed on her desk beside her pet fish. 😉
She has been using it since Christmas, every couple of weeks she dips her hand into the jar and pulls out a new topic.  The rule was laid out the beginning that there were no picksie choosies – she has to research whichever one she pulls out.  So far there has been no cheating. 😉
I think that The Inspiration Jar is a great idea …. not only could it be used for research project ideas but think of:
- rainy or snow day projects
- things for when the kids say “I am bored”,
- the long list of movies I have never seen but always forget when I am deciding to watch one,
- books to read
- ……anything that you might want to be inspired about 🙂
