We took a break from deck building (that is going to be SOME blog posting when it finally gets completed …..) to drive to Quebec City. We struck out at 6 am on a Saturday (yes we are early risers anyways so this was really no big deal) to do the 9 hour drive. The kids were troopers and we were there before we knew it. We stayed at the Hotel Clarendon right downtown in old Quebec. The girls delighted in the buskers, buildings, Notre Dame Cathedral, Chateau Frontenac and general relaxed wanderings of the city walls. The weather was perfect for sitting in the cafe’s having a pint. 😉
We had climbed up to the fort during the day. Caitlyn felt that this would be a perfect place to come at nighttime, we did and she was most certainly Correct!!
Enjoying the view from the City walls.
I was attempting to get a photo of the girls with the buildings behind them. The kids were explaining to me that there were cars coming behind us. I was trying to get them to smile saying don’t worry about the cars they will stop. Dave was on the sidewalk saying that the cars didn’t look like they were stopping………… photo didn’t turn out exactly how I had planned but the memory is there. 😉 Lesson learned ….. when you are feeling adventurous after a pint or two at a pub explain the plan to all involved in the photo so that the team can put forth a coordinated effort. 🙂 (lol)

We did Quebec City last year too, beautiful city. So alive, so much to see, it’s like being in Europe.
Great pics as always.
Definitely we will be back again. Loved the opportunity to practise our French – it wasn’t as rusty as I thought it was. 🙂
